Hooray for the New Orlean's Saints!

Hep – Hep Hooray!  Yeah, the New Orleans Saints beats Indianapolis Colts on the XLIV Super Bowl.  Woohoo!!!  It was a very thrilling great game.  Hubby and I were really rooting for this team especially that they are considered as underdogs.  Congratulations!  Way to go guys!!!

Cheers to LIFE!

Cheers to LIFE!  That’s me and my margarita drink on my birthday dinner last night at Maggiano’s.  That place is awesome – delicious food, warm ambiance and superb service.  You should check out that eating place, guys.  It is just a very commendable place especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.  It might be a little too pricey for us (in our standards) but the experience was so amazing.  It was all worth it!  We love it and we will be back there for sure.

I am just right here and basking in all the Blessings that He has continually bestowed on me –

As each day comes to us refreshed and anew,

so does my gratitude renew itself daily.

The breaking of the sun over the horizon

is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world.

just grateful at 38!

How was your weekend, guys?  Ours wasn't bad at all.  I admit that I felt bad Saturday morning on finding out an undesirable news from back home.  Hubby and I was so devastated with the news but we can't do anything about it.  It has happened, we just have to accept it and move on, right?

So to cheer me up, hubby suggested for us to go out to the mall.  We went to North Star Mall and checked out Saks Fifth Avenue for I would really like to check out some of my dream purses there.  I wasn't really expecting anything since hubby got me a red Gucci purse already last month; and it was supposed to be a gift for three occasions - wedding anniversary, birthday and valentines day.  So, I was truly surprised when hubby offered me a Burberry purse for my birthday.  I was like:  "You're kidding, right?"

We checked out the Burberry section and I didn't find anything that  totally captured me that day.  Gee, you should see the other brands there, they are so fabulous with a very sinful price.  We hopped from one brand to another; and then hopped back from one brand to another until I am fixed on this one -

Yeah, I can't believe it and up to this moment, I am still and truly reveling over it!  Thank you, hubbypie for the birthday gift and for always fulfilling my dreams.  You're the man!  And thank you, Lord for everything.

wishing for an affordable medical insurance

In the case of the automotive industry, they always change health insurance company at the beginning of the year.  Well, hubby said that it's always like this in his more than twenty years as an auto technician.  I just find it a hassle and a pain since there's no difference in the cost of medical insurance at all.  In fact, it is getting more expensive every year; and when I say expensive, it truly is.  Could you imagine paying $1,200 every month for a family plan?  It is totally outrageous, right?  But we can't do anything about it.  That's how it has been in the automotive industry.

If only I can go back to work so I can get my family an affordable insurance plan.  We had this set-up before when I was still working as a patient representative in a clinic.  It was so easy on us financially then.  But since I am now a stay-at-home mom and wife, we can't just do anything about it and just suck it up!  That's life!  Hopefully I can go back to work soon so things will get better.

can't wait to read The Help

This is one of the books that I bought from Barnes and Noble when we were there the other day.  I have heard good reviews of this novel that I just can't help but grab a copy of it.  It was on sale for 30% off, so I thought I got myself a good deal.  I just can't wait to devour it!  Have a good one all!

hanging out at hubby's work bay

glitter saturday

My little girl and I are just hanging out here in my husband's work area.  What a Saturday huh!  It is not supposed to be his schedule to work this Saturday but some emergency came up that he had to report to work.  Kate is just watching movies on the car's dvd player and I am tinkering here in the internet using hubby's laptop.

We are planning to have lunch at our favorite Mexican Restaurant, Blanco Cafe; and have to do groceries at the Wally World later.  We are also hoping to drop by Barnes and Nobles just to browse.  I hope I can find some affordable good reads there.  It's a good thing that hubby and my bug also love that place.  We just find bookstores to be a fun place.  Well, that's it for now.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

my girl and her princess car

What is really funny is something we caught our daughter doing.  She really loves her princess car we found out.  We have noticed that she will sit in it every day.  What a perfect Christmas gift that’s been for her!  Also the thing is when my husband unplugs it after it's charged, she comes around the next day and plugs it back in.  She is so excited I guess and really wants to make sure it's charged up.  We brought it inside and keep it by the front door, so she can still play in it.  It's winter time here and the weather hasn’t been the warmest these past few weeks.  She straps her baby’s car seat in it and everything.  All ready to take her baby doll for a ride and no place to go.

It’s really funny but I know when we were excited about a toy, we always wanted to play when we were young.  She has been very good about it and very patient.  Soon the weather will warm up and her daddy can take her out for a play with her car and it will all be worth the wait I’m sure.  Until then she will play and play with her baby in the car seat and the princess car that won’t move yet, because we told her it was out of gas. Maybe that’s why she will plug it in time and time again.

happy with our car insurance

Well, it is time for us to shop for auto insurance again. Our company we had in Colorado is dropping insurance on our cars because we have moved out of that state. Shopping for insurance has been such a job because we are in a new place and it seems that you can find rates from all over and never a good rate. My husband has three cars and one of them being a Camaro is going to really hike up our rates.

After all the looking, we went online to American Car Quotes and finally we found an affordable option. Our insurance in Colorado was very expensive and we were only able to cover our Tahoe with full coverage with just minimal cost for our other 2 cars. We even thought to not cover the Camaro and just park it. With the deal we found now, we are able to cover the Tahoe and the Camaro with full coverage and our other car with normal coverage at a cheaper price.

With the bills piling up, this is definitely helpful for us to get cheaper insurance. Our coverage is good and my husband is happy with what he has found. That’s great so that we don’t have to stress about insurance no more. It’s all taken care of and now we can focus on other things.

Amethyst and its healing powers

Yay, it's almost my birthday!  Just don't ask me how young am I, okay?  Geez!  I can't believe I am this young, LOL!  As you know that people who is born February has Amethyst for a birthstone.  Here's an article I found at my favorite inspirational site, Beliefnet about my birthstone, Amethyst and its healing powers.

FEBRUARY - AMETHYST

The amethyst, February's birthstone, has been traveling the world for more than 8,000 years as a trade commodity between many cultures. Amethyst is part of the quartz family, and while its color ranges from light lavender to the richest shade of purple, the deep purple stones are considered most valuable. The amethyst derives its name from the Greek word amethystus, meaning "sober," and was believed to protect the wearer from becoming intoxicated by alcohol.

Amethysts have been worn through the ages by religious leaders as a symbol of piety and celibacy. Buddhists believe that the amethyst enhances tranquility and peace during meditation, and Leonardo da Vinci thought it had the power to increase intelligence and protect against evil. This tranquil gemstone may bring peace to the wearer as well as alleviate anxiety, reduce negativity, and protect against deceit. The amethyst also contains the power to assist with therapy for alcohol and drug abuse.

Interesting, huh?  Hmmm, upon reading this I should wear my Amethyst jewelry more often then.  What do you think?

reminiscing those days...

I am in my reminiscing the past mode these days.  I can't help to look back during my college days in Silliman University in the Philippines.  I remember that our dorm had a chance to sponsor a Student Mass in the said school.  One of my dorm mates, Bernie (we call him the Piano Man) and his piano sheet music, choreographed the whole thing from our songs to the psalms.  It was truly a great experience for me and up to now I can still remember the songs we did during that mass.  Everybody was so in awe after our performances and I can't help but be proud that I was part of the said geniuses.

If only I can turn back the clock and really did something with my interest in music.  Bernie with his free sheet music could have helped me the basics of piano.  I could have been a good piano woman if not the best today.  Oh well!  I will just do my best so my little girl will have the opportunity to learn how to play the piano.  Right now, I am thinking of downloading some music especially Christmas Sheet Music and Carols so she can practice on them in the future.

But for now, let me get back to my reminiscing...
